Taplic Video respects the rights of creators, publishers and rights holders. This page explains what we store, how we treat images and text, and how to ask us to remove an entry that infringes your rights. It is written in the spirit of the DMCA notice and takedown process, adapted for a catalog that links to content rather than hosting it.
What we store
We do not host video files and we do not stream them. For every entry we keep a small record: the title, a short description, the creator name, a cached thumbnail image and the link to the original post. The video itself stays on the platform where it was published, and every visitor who clicks through is taken to that original post.
How we treat thumbnails
Thumbnails and short descriptions are used to identify and preview the linked video. We cache thumbnails on our own servers so the catalog does not send your visitors to a third party service for every page view. Where a thumbnail or a description is protected, we publish it in good faith for identification and promotion of the original work, with a link back to the source. If a rights holder objects, we remove the image or the text on request.
How to report an infringement
If you believe that an entry in the catalog infringes your copyright or another right, send a report to video@taplic.com with the subject line "Takedown". To let us act quickly, please include:
- The exact URL of the entry on Taplic Video, for example https://video.taplic.com/v/example.
- The original work you own and the platform where it is published.
- Evidence that you own or represent the rights, such as a link to your channel, a registration or a written authorisation.
- Your name and a way to contact you.
- A short statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised.
- A statement that the information in your report is accurate.
What happens next
We aim to acknowledge every complete report within two working days. Entries that clearly infringe are removed or made unavailable as soon as we have verified the report, and we aim to act within five working days in all other cases. If a report is incomplete we will tell you what is missing rather than ignore it. If the entry was added by a user, we may notify that user as part of the process.
Repeat infringers
We keep a record of resolved takedown reports. An account or an e mail address that repeatedly uploads or claims links to infringing content will have its entries removed and, in serious or repeated cases, will be blocked from adding to the catalog.
Counter notice
If you added an entry and believe a takedown was a mistake, write to video@taplic.com with the entry URL and the reason you believe the content is yours or is used with permission. We will review the claim and restore the entry only where the right to publish is clear.
